Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage, design, develop, create and maintain small-scale through to large-scale construction projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner

  • Conduct on site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other)

  • Prepare structural designs and engineering drawings for buildings, roads, water and waste water facilities.

  • Preparation of bills of quantities and estimates for roadworks and other infrastructural projects.

  • Review of structural designs and drawings submitted by private developers for approvals.

  • Supervision and inspection of roads and building construction works within the Municipality.

  • Inspection of facilities and preparation maintenance procedures for completed infrastructural projects.

  • Conduct site supervision for Municipal projects including roads, water and building projects and preparation of status reports.

  • Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications

  • Monitor progress and compile reports in project status

  • Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required

    Requirements for Appointment

  • Must be a Kenyan citizen

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage

  • Be registered as a graduate member of engineer’s registration Board of Kenya

  • Must possess computer proficiency Certificate
