7. MCH Nurse Jobs at Shining Hope for Communities
Location: Mathare Clinic
Reports to: Clinical Medical Coordinator
Hours: Mon- Fri, 8:00am to 4:00pm and two Saturdays a month
The job holder is responsible for providing holistic nursing services to outpatient and MCH/FP within SHOFCO’s Mathare Clinic
Key Responsibilities for the MCH Nurse JobAiding CO as required during treatment, examination and testing of patients;
Ensure that all required observations, prescribed treatment and procedures are properly carried out and documented on patient’s charts.
Enroll patients into Maternal and child wellness clinic and ensure high retention rates of new clients
Ensure timely submission of accurate vaccine supplies and maintain vaccine commodities as per KEPI standards
Knowledge and skills in cervical cancer screening will be of added advantage
Participate in community health surveys/campaigns
Participate in training of community health workers
Preparing equipment and ensuring examination rooms are clean and stocked with required supplies and materials;
Administering prescribed medications, injections and treatments in accordance with nursing standards
Timely linkage and referrals for primary healthcare clients
Oversee support group activities in the MCH and PHC
MCH Nurse Jobs Qualifications
Diploma in Nursing from a recognized college preferably KMTC
Registered member of nursing council of Kenya
At least 2 years post College experience working in a busy MCH/FP set up
Current practicing license is a MUST
Phlebotomy
Good writing, interpersonal and communication skills.
Reporting skills
High administrative and analytical capacity.
Good computer skills.

Location: Mathare
Reports to: Clinic coordinator
Working Hours: Monday- Friday, 8am to 4pm, 2 Saturday a month
This role will be to receive, verify, analyze and record results on appropriate forms and report results promptly to the clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities for the Lab Technologist Job
Prepare the laboratory equipment and specimens for tests
Ensuring availability and optimum utilization of reagents
Specimen collection, analysis, interpretation, reporting and dispatch of results from patients.
Preparation and storage reagents
Documenting all processes and results to ensure availability of supportive information
Implementing all set stock control procedures to ensure accountability
Ensure superior customer experience to all internal and external community members
Compile reports on activities undertaken
Maintain high standards in good laboratory practice, laboratory safety, and laboratory hygiene
Any other official duty that relates to your work.
Lab Technologist Job Qualifications
Must have excellent knowledge and previous experience in microbiology and light microscopy.
Ability to work well in a team and with minimum supervision.
Good laboratory and analytical skills
At least 2 years experience working in a busy clinical set up
Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution.
Registered with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technologist and Technicians Board with a valid practicing license.
Computer literacy, with proficiency in Ms Office packages.

9. Economic Empowerment Program Officer Jobs at Shining Hope for Communities
Reports to: Program Manager
Working Hours: Monday – Friday 8.00am -5.00pm
Economic Empowerment Program Officer Job Responsibilities
General growth and strategic expansion of the program
Coordination, supervision and oversight of all departments in the program to ensure that targets are met within the stipulated time.
To organize training of GSL facilitators in GSL concept; spearhead group savings & loan mobilization and raise awareness on the importance of GSL
Identify the skill gaps and develop a capacity building plan for existing youth and women groups introduced in the employability project
Provide monthly update reports on the projects within the department and ensure that set targets are met according to the existing timelines
To identification, recruit and build capacity of organized groups that are enrolled in the employability project
To work with other community organizations, groups, churches and mosques to reach the target identified of group savings and loan.
Support economic empowerment activities implementation in job skills and employment activities as well as assisting on the ground identification of constraints and opportunities
Support for the management and mentorship of local program staff and other partners, gradually transferring skills and capacities.
Work with other project staff on an ongoing basis to ensure smooth planning, preparation, implementation of program activities and achievements towards the overall program goals
In liaison with the Program Manager identify capacity gaps and opportunities to strengthen the economic empowerment and employability component of the program
Prepare timely weekly, monthly, quarterly and end of year reports for the program
Facilitate the development and preparation of training materials on entrepreneurship as appropriate (hand outs, curricular, presentations, manuals etc) and update existing materials in line with new recommendations and guidelines and facilitate trainings for project beneficiaries on entrepreneurship
Skills requirements
Self motivated, extremely organized and have the ability to function well under pressure while handling numerous tasks simultaneously
He/she must be willing to take initiative, prioritize with minimal supervision and work independently as well as function as a member of a team
Must have demonstrated organizational skills and excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office
Must have good interpersonal skills, co-operative attitude and cultural sensitivity.
Qualifications for the Economic Empowerment Program Officer Job
A bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship or Economics
3 years post qualification experience in entrepreneurship training, business development or business project management
