Position OverviewPosition: Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator
Department: Operations and Resources
Reports to: Facilities and Maintenance Manager
Direct reports: Maintenance Assistants
Location: Mathare
Working Hours: Monday – Friday | 8.00 AM – 5.00PM | Saturday on need basis
Job Purpose: To provide implement preventative maintenance, liaising with service providers, perform planned and regular inspections of equipment and supplies, and diagnosing and fixing any faults on machinery.
Key Responsibilities / Duties / TasksDeveloping maintenance plans and implementing them.
Ensuring quality control standards are consistently met.
Keeping track of supply and material inventories.
Request Procurement to Purchase any equipment, tools, or materials that may be required for planned and routine maintenance.
Updating maintenance logs for all machinery.
Establishing protocols for non-mechanical maintenance.
Ensuring basic tools and machinery are in working order by performing regular inspections.
Assessing procedures and making recommendations for improvement.
Ensure work is attained in responsive way complying to set quality safety guidelines.
Support facility maintenance manager with agreed staff action for employees.
Academic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Building Economics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Registered Electrical Engineer
Prior experience in an office setting including some knowledge of equipment, maintenance and repair terminology
Professional Qualifications
Repair work experience.
Physical strength and good hand-eye coordination.
Excellent customer service and negotiation skills.
Leadership experience recommended.
Proficiency in Excel.
Other requirements (unique/job specific)
At least 5 year proven experience in a similar role
Good communication and interpersonal skills capable of maintaining strong relationships.
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities.
Team-management and leadership skills.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other SHOFCO employees
