SHOFCO is a rapidly-growing organization that currently impacts over 300,000 people across 9 urban slums in Kenya.
Over the next 5-10 years, SHOFCO aims to become a national platform for urban slum transformation across Kenya, demonstrating a scalable and replicable model that can be used around the world
Job OverviewTo supervise the students and provide learning support and guidance. He / She should be ready to assist the lead teacher with the development and implementation of education plans as well as identify and solve issues with the educational, social and emotional development of learners.
The Assistant Teacher should be committed to developing meaningful relationships with pupils and giving constructive feedback to help them grow and improve. .
Job Responsibilities: Facilitate
Learning of the pupils
Maintain order at all times
Motivate and encourage learners
Assisting in marking and correcting work
Helping with school events, trips and activities
Handle indiscipline cases in the classroom
Student progress report
Maintaining daily records of pupils attendance
Help develop pupils’ abilities
Proper Management, usage and storage of all resources and equipment allocated.
Preparation of Records of work covered.
Job Skills:
Trained P1 teacher
Coordination skills
Time management
Creative, interactive and engaging in teaching methods
Familiarity with school administrative tasks and learning methods
Great communication and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
