SBM Bank Head of Corporate International Banking & Syndication Jobs in Kenya

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking, the Head of Corporate International Banking & Syndication will be called upon to lead and manage the global banking business.

The job incumbent will also provide input for further development opportunities with the objective to increase sales of these products within the limit of the SBM Credit Policy and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategize and identify new business opportunities in cross border funding

• Formulate overall business strategies (long run and short run) for the cross border funding and ensure that the strategies are ahead/in line with
the bank’s overall vision/direction

• Devise strategies for the maximization of client wallets by proposing effective and profitable cross border funding solution

• Facilitate and assist in the design and development of customised cross border solutions to meet the needs of customers by working closely with the sales team and the customers

• Be accountable for cross border revenue, profitability & growth

• Be accountable for innovative cross border solutions, management and development

• Be responsible for the branding and promotion of IBD Assets Value Propositions by organising seminars, speeches and training

• Be responsible for product portfolio and performance monitoring

• Build and maintain relationship with strategic partnership with other recognised foreign Financial Institutions to tap opportunities for cross border funding initiatives

• Perform any other related duties as may be required

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• University degree in Finance/Banking/Accounting/Economics. A post-graduate degree is preferable

• 10+ years of international banking & financial services experience including 5+ years in leadership role

• Understanding of industry trends across multiple industries and jurisdictions

• Understanding of in-country customers, banking industry, competitors and regulations

• Sales and customer relationship management skills

• Proven experience in syndication

• Comprehensive understanding of the entire set of Corporate & Institutional Banking solutions as well as global markets solutions

• Understanding of regulatory guidelines and financial analysis methodologies

• Build & optimise stakeholder networks

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to manage business profitability in collaboration with the Group

• Strong leadership and people development capabilities
