In Uganda, we implement programmes in five thematic programme areas of Child Protection, Child Rights Governance, Education, Child Poverty, Health and Nutrition in Development and Emergency contexts. Save the Children delivers programs in over 36 districts in the North, Rwenzori, North-Eastern and Central regions of Uganda, Currently, Save the Children has a staff complement of over 300 persons. Save the Children Uganda Country Office is looking to recruit a Ugandan National for the following position:
Role Purpose:The Senior Officer Maternal and New-born and Child Health Capacity Building is primarily responsible for leading and coordinating all project MNCH facility-based capacity building activities in their district of location including; offsite and onsite training; onsite
mentorship, quality improvement, documentation and tracking of capacity building activities in collaboration with the district health team leadership and the project monitoring evaluation, accountability and learning officer.
The Senior Officer may be called upon as and when necessary to support the emergency team in cases of humanitarian crisis and to coordinate district level activities on behalf of the MNCH program manager.

Qualifications and ExperienceMinimum of a bachelors degree in medicine or health related subject or higher diploma in either midwifery or nursing or equivalent accrued working experience. A Postgraduate training in public health, health systems strengthening, Reproductive Health and Gender, is an added advantage;
Minimum of five years working experience in MNCH related programming in Uganda (preferably with an International NGO);
Skills and experience in training and mentorship of health facility based health workers is an added advantage.
