In Uganda, we implement programmes in five thematic programme areas of Child Protection, Child Rights Governance, Education, Child Poverty, Health and Nutrition in Development and Emergency contexts.

Role Purpose:
The Program Officer Nutrition provides ongoing, implementation, monitoring & evaluation and reporting in regard to the execution of the Emergency Nutrition activities.
The Program Officer Nutrition leads on the nutrition intervention with focus on managing the IYCF-E Program and to ensure that the all components of the program are functioning properly, providing quality care to all the beneficiaries while respecting guidelines and principles of good practice e.g. the Operational Guidance on IYCF-E, the International Code of Marketing of Breast milk Substitutes and subsequent relevant resolutions, and SPHERE 2011.

Qualification and Experience;
Essential Minimum Bachelors’ Degree in Nutrition, Nursing, Public Health or any equivalent accrued working experience in a related position;
At least two years relevant experience implementing, supervising, monitoring and evaluating field based nutrition projects with an NGO, focusing on children’s rights, preferably in an emergency setting;
Good understanding of child rights issues and child rights instruments.
Specific familiarity with child rights issues in the NGO world or work.
Ability to interact with communities (refugees and host); children and adults as well as other stakeholders at sub-county and district levels.
Desirable
At least 1 years’ experience in financial, planning and budget management.
Effective interpersonal skills – oral and written communication skills
Facilitation and presentation skills
Strong documentation and reporting skills.
