Salient Humanitarian Organization Nutrition Assistant (for WFP-BSFP Project) Jobs in Nigeria
Job Description Assist in conducting monthly BSFP distribution activity to target population
Assist in conducting proper community nutrition sensitization and screening exercise
Supervise an effective mother to mother support group
Supervise nutrition specific value adding activities (SBCC, Home gardening, food hygiene promotion etc
Supervise regular follow up and management of malnutrition cases at the OTP/SC
Provide nutrition training to community nutrition mobilizers
Assist in preparation of monthly nutrition progress report
Daily reporting of nutrition activity
Required Qualifications and Experience
A University degree in Medicine, Nursing, Dietetics, Nutrition or relevant fields.
Minimum of two years' experience working with vulnerable communities, basic needs and distribution programming experience, and/or feeding programs.
Experience in protection interventions in line with vulnerables or IDP operation.
Experience of working with Non-Governmental organizations.
Ability to communicate in Hausa and other local languages is a must.
Willingness and ability to work full time time in the field directly with communities (camp setting and communities in Jere areas).
Knowledge and Skills:
Understanding of nutritional surveillance and information systems
Proven ability and experience in planning and conducting formal training session on nutrition including.
Ability to deal with relations with local authorities as a nutrition representative of SHO in the working area
Proven capacity to supervise, train and coach local staff and community workers
Ability to manage a fair workload including emergencies.
Interests: Working in humanitarian relief, interest for social issues

Strong motivation to help people in need
Ability to adapt or change priorities according to the changing situation within a mission or the organization itself
Understanding and capacity of integration into the local environment
Ability to analyze and suggest improvements of the
activities
Well organized and hard worker
Able to manage stress and pressure
Understanding of the context of the area

Neutrality
Able to check validity of information, logical thinking.
