Our client, Salaam Investment Bank Kenya Ltd is the first Shariah compliant investment bank in Kenya having been licensed by the Capital Markets Authority in November 2018. They wish to recruit a key pioneer staff (Portfolio Manager - Real Estate).

Job Purpose

The basic role of this position is to advice on creation of an investment fund and manages that fund on behalf of SIB clients and customers and to optimize the value of different properties through a combination of high-class transaction and management execution.

Principle Account-abilities

To be in charge of asset allocation, risk adjustment, transaction supervision and the execution of asset/investments strategy for clients on behalf of SIB;

Managing real estate assets that are held in portfolio and agency accounts;

Finding prospective sites, negotiating contracts, providing lease abstracts and developing a proposed budget for real estate agents;

Evaluating options and opportunities in order to make the most of return on real estate investments;

Working with real estate service providers, including managing agents, brokers, consultants, attorneys, research and finance professionals;

Creating annual real estate portfolio budgets;

Providing quarterly performance updates and financial forecasts; and

Advising Chief Investments Officer real estate fund in relation to the real estate market.

Work closely with Business Development team to create market awareness on SIB products

and services

Undertake regular customer engagement forums

Person Profile

6-10 years’ experience in portfolio management, 5 of which must be in real estate and funds management;

Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Investments Financial Analyst (CIFA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA);

Bachelor Degree in Commerce, Business Administration or Business Management (with bias in Finance or/and Investments), Economics or Actuarial Science;

Experience in Real Estate Investment Trusts management and financial modelling will be an added advantage.

Professional Qualifications

Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Investments Financial Analyst (CIFA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
