Description SAIC is seeking an exceptional Deputy Project Manager to lead our training program in multiple African Nations.
Strengthening the capacity of security sector institutions across multiple African countries is fundamental to the success of AFRICAP Program supporting the US State Department.
SAIC will provide logistics training to specific African countries including: training and mentoring in operations and maintenance (O&M); mentoring O&M personnel; driver and mechanics training; quartermaster training; small arms, ammunition, and stockpile management training; mentoring of training center staff and operations personnel.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Work directly for the Program Manager and coordinate all efforts based on performance tasks.
Serve as the U.S. government’s primary in-country point of contact for all technical matters pertaining to a task order in absence of the PM.
Serves as leader for all staff on a task order, and mentors employees, identifies possible problem areas, priorities and deadlines in absence of the PM.
Assists the PM to ensure timely delivery of quality work products and services associated with accounting and financial systems, budget control, and financial management functions.
This position may require working
in austere locations
THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON GOVT AWARD - The designated country location will be identified upon receipt of DoS Task Order
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
At least two (4) years as a military or civilian equivalent logistics SME and/or Manager.
At least two (2) years of demonstrated success as a Deputy PM or PM in a directly related logistics experience relevant to task order requirements and program objectives.
Directly related experience operating and living in areas with limited life cycle support in hardship conditions.
Experience managing or executing complex logistics support tasks.
Fluent in French
