Job DescriptionMonitoring water users and uses;
Enforcement of the compliance status of water users to water use regulations;
Levying of water resources usage fees and charges;
Preparation and implementation of education and public awareness programs related to water resources use;
Development and update of water use inspection procedures and checklist;
Control and enforcement of water resources use efficiency and water productivity;
Development and implementation of field water use inspection plans and roadmap;
Conducting regular inspections of sites or facilities suspected to cause or having potential for non compliance with laws, regulations and best water management practices;
Contribution to development of plans, guidelines and procedures for best water use practices;
Conducting measurement for specific water uses to check compliance with water use requirements, document and report findings;
Preparation of inspection reports and provision of recommendations to address identified issues;
Follow up the implementation status of recommendations from previous inspections;
Working with other regulatory and enforcement institutions to enforce compliance with water use regulations
Review of
studies from different economic sectors, government agencies, private sector, NGOs, etc in relation to water use aspects;
Update and maintenance of physical and electronic files and reports regarding water use inspection activities and findings.
Advising RWB on appropriate equipment to acquire in order to complement and improve existing water use inspection efforts;
Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors
Job Profile
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Water Engineering, Ecology and Natural Resource Management, Water Resources Management, Water Governance, Agriculture Engineering, Irrigation and Drainage or Environmental Science

Fluency in Kinyarwanda, English and/ or French. Knowledge of all is an added advantage.
