Contract Details: Six (6) months

Job Summary

Rural Agency for Community Development and Assistance (RACIDA) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance self-reliance and prosperity amongst vulnerable (Agro)-pastoralist communities living in Arid and Semi-Arid Lands through the promotion of better livelihood systems, sustainable use of natural resources, and community empowerment.

RACIDA is collaborating with the County government of Mandera to implement the USAID/BHA-funded project "Integrated emergency response to the triple crisis of drought, COVID-19, and desert locusts in Mandera County, Kenya (IETC)".

Nurses Duties & Responsibilities

Assessing patient needs for nursing services.

Verification and maintaining information relating to patients’ admissions.

Providing appropriate healthcare services including Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), immunization, reproductive health services, ante-natal care, and delivery.

Providing health education and counseling to patients/clients and community on identified health needs.

Refer patients/clients appropriately.

Keeping records of drugs and supplies.

Prepare various daily, weekly, and monthly MoH reports and participates in appropriate meetings.

Guiding, supervising, and counseling staff under him/her in performing routine duties.

Implementation of community health strategy with other workers

Any other Health duties as may be assigned from to time.

Requirements

Have a diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse from Kenya medical training college or a recognized nursing training institution.

Or Certificate in any of the following disciplines:

Kenya

Enrolled Nurse, Kenya Enrolled Community Health Nurse, Kenya Enrolled Midwife or Enrolled Nurse/Midwife from Kenya medical training college or a recognized training institution.

Be Registered & Licensed by the Nursing Council of Kenya.

Be in good professional standing with the Nursing Council of Kenya.

At least one year of experience in a busy hospital.
