Job Purpose
The Relationship Manager Trade and Commodity Finance (TCF) Africa, will be the commercial force in maintaining and developing a portfolio of customers operating in trade and commodity finance activities, within the frame of the African strategy as set by Management. The job scope will provide the incumbent with opportunities to fully comprehend the mechanism of structured trade and commodity finance, its financing structures, and its technicalities.
Key Responsibilities
Build, manage and leverage relationships to foster business development within existing TCF clients and prospects in the Eastern and Southern Africa Food and Agriculture sector (Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Uganda, South Africa, Malawi, and Mozambique)
Perform Client/Deal originating and structuring along with relationship management for a range of clients; cross-sell non TCF products such as core lending, Value Chain Finance, and Financial Institutions to ensure added.
Develop a strategic view of clients, prospects, and their sectors, geographies and translate this into engaging account plans in close cooperation with the client service team
Serve as a liaison between Rabobank's client base and colleagues working within various competence centers to ensure a high-quality all-encompassing dialogue with the Bank’s clients beyond their finding needs.
Act as a go-between Rabobank and African Cultures, collaborating with other Rabobank (TCF)
offices around the world to structurally optimize the return on the Bank’s relationship thus, finding solutions that best fit the clients’ demands.
Work on identifying and securing new business opportunities across Africa and increasing the bank's portfolio
Monitor market developments and trends and identify new commercial opportunities.
Responsible as the first line of defense in the Bank against risk by ensuring the following is in line with the Bank’s risk appetite.
Job Qualifications
Masters's degree in Business Management or business-related field
At least four (4) to ten(10) years of experience in commercial banking and structured trade finance products within the African continent
Proven track record in developing client relationships with an established network of client relationships
Strong analytical and risk mindset; with experience in handling complex structured transactions
Capacity to deal with a varying range of client and portfolio information requirements to stakeholders in a transparent and complete fashion;
A go-getter, enthusiastic, results-oriented with excellent interpersonal, communication, and social skills;
Impeccable business negotiation skills and commercial acumen;
Initiative-taking who is strongly committed to meeting and exceeding objectives.
