Our client is looking for a General Manager for its Lusaka operations, which consist of a breeder farm and a feed mill. The ideal candidate should have sales and operations experience and industry know-how.

The focus of the position will be the general management of the operations and business including the implementation and execution of a sales strategy for the Lusaka operations. This position will report directly to the client's Managing Director, based in Lusaka, and will be responsible for leading sales and the operational processes of the Lusaka breeder farm and feed mill.

Responsibilities:

Take the lead on all aspects relating to sales.

Develop and implement a sales strategy for the Lusaka operations.

Managing sales outlets selling day-old chicks and feed.

Responsible for managing the business in Lusaka.

Responsible for managing the farm production both for the breeders and the hatchery.

Purchasing of raw materials for the feed mill and managing the production at the mill.

Responsible for managing all maintenance, including vehicles.

Manage operational procedures of all the above.

Manage performance and development of staff.

Manage systems, policies, procedures and administration.

Key Skills:

Knowledge of:

Sales.

People Management.

Feed Mill / Breeder Farm / Hatchery management.

Animal Welfare.

Bio-security Procedures.

Health & Safety Regulations.

Must have a valid driver’s licence.

Ability to work overtime/weekends.

Microsoft package (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.).

Clear Criminal Record.

Qualifications:

Relevant Agricultural Qualification and/or business qualification (Degree/Diploma).

Minimum of 6 - 8 years of relevant general sales and management experience.
