Job Description To manage all aspects of the contractual and financial side of the construction project
Responsibilities
Reviewing construction drawings and preparing quantities
Takes part in the tendering process and ensure official documentations are captured
Reviewing of all submitted bill of quantities
Prepares reports, contracts, budgets, risk assessments and other documents
Negotiate with external sub-contractors and suppliers
Budget preparations and cash flow projections
Preparation of financial models based on the bqcostings
Negotiating contracts
Documenting any design change and updating the budget
Keep track of all the requisitions, goods received at the site and goods issued to contractors
Attend site meetings and prepare minutes
Feasibility studies
Project valuations
Projects re-evaluation
Financial projections
Contract preparations
Project cost controls
Final accounts
Valuation reports
Valuations and re-measurements
Preparation of construction contracts (reviewed & approved by HoC& legal departments)
Preparations of bills of quantities
Sourcing construction materials
Sourcing for quotations
Payment for work done on site
Interim Payment Certificat
Requisitions
Quality checks on submitted samples by contractors
Technical and reporting training for Site managers
Material control
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, construction engineering, management, or related field
2-3 years of general construction estimating experience, financial experience,
construction experience, or related field
Proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite
Able to analyze financial records and apply data to improved results
Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports
Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets; strong estimating and financial analysis skills
In-depth understanding of construction, materials, pricing, and industry
Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
Numeracy
A good working knowledge of MS Excel and the ability to learn how to use specialist software
Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills
The ability to work in a team
The ability to negotiate
Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
