Job Summary The project seeks to recruit suitable candidates to increase the number of health personnel required to increase staffing levels through screening and disease surveillance at the ports of entry; laboratory testing facilities at the NPHLS, NMS, and selected high risk counties across the country.
Background
The Kenya COVID-19 Health Emergency Response project is the Phase 1 of the Multi-Phase Programmatic Approach for Strategic Preparedness and Response Program. Theproposed project aims to assist Kenyan government in its efforts to prevent, detect and respond to the threat posed by COVID-19 and strengthen national systems for public health preparedness.
Kenya is experiencing a high disease burden in addition to the negative effects of COVID-19 pandemic among other public health emergencies. There is need to recruit additionalsurge staff to man the various strategic centers established within the Nairobi metropolitan, National hospitals, County hospitals, and Ports of Entry that suffer acute staff shortage.

Qualifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have a:
Diploma in any of the following fields; Diagnostic Radiography/Medical Imaging Sciences, Ultrasound, Computerized Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy and Digital Medical
imaging equipment or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C (plain) in English/Kiswahili, Biology/ Biological Sciences or Physics/ Physical Sciences and C-(minus) in Mathematics; and
Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities An officer at this level will be deployed to take charge of an X-ray department at County and Sub County Hospital
Specific duties will involve:
Provision of Medical Imaging Services; carrying out medical imaging examinations, processing, verifying
and maintaining information related to patients, caring for and counselling patient and their relatives before, during and after examinations.
In addition, the officer will be ensuring safety and maintenance of medical imaging/ therapeutic equipment and their accessories; establishing and maintaining quality Assurance Programs in the department; requisition and
maintaining records of Radiographic and other imaging materials; ensuring radiation safety within the health facility and guiding and supervising staff.
Requirements for Appointment For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
Served in the grade of Radiographer or in a comparable and relevant position in for at least for three (3) years;
Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
