Q-Sourcing Maintenance Planner Jobs in Uganda
Job SummaryEnsures that effective maintenance plans are in place for the maintenance of applicable equipment, that spares are available for the planned work, resources are available to execute. On the planned maintenance outage, monitors that the plan is effective. Makes recommendations to the Maintenance controller and Head of Manufacturing if unforeseen work arises.
Key Roles and ResponsibilitiesMaintains a safe and healthy working environment.
Comply with safety, health and environmental procedures and legislation
Maintain safety and housekeeping standards
Plans for the effective maintenance, calibration, repair of equipment and optimization of plant and associated devices.
Locate plant equipment spares and relevant documentation / systems
Maintain minimum stocks of spare parts and consumables and avoid stock outs of the same; forecast spare parts requirement
Develop the plan
Continuously improve (optimize) plans and look for opportunities to reduce the overall planned maintenance outage, whilst ensuring that all required work is carried out and plant is not placed at risk.
Identify the required follow-on work and raise the relevant work orders
Develop detailed work packages from preventive maintenance routine (PMR) findings and corrective maintenance activities for the maintenance team
Analyze and screen corrective maintenance (CM) job cards and burning maintenance issues for opportunities to perform root cause failure analysis to prevent future failures.
Communicate effectively in teams at all levels in the plant
Contribute to self and team development
Ensure correct system usage by team – auditing and coaching!
Identify equipment eligible for design out maintenance
Develops and implement asset care plan. Capture data, analyze and generate asset care reports.
Analyze the equipment data to
identify failure causes and dominant failure modes.
Identify the maintenance tasks.
Optimize schedules.
Analyze spare parts inventory requirements and continuously improve inventory control.
Compile periodic reports (weekly/monthly/quarterly/annually) to ensure the maintenance manager has up to date information for decision making.
Implement procurement requirements for spares, materials and outsourced work.
Coordinate the drawing of detailed maintenance tasks per asset
Plan the maintenance day according to standard procedures.
Access the maintenance system to review works orders or create new works orders.
Initiate changes to maintenance schedules in collaboration with the Head of Manufacturing, Maintenance Controller, Workshop controller and Maintenance Technicians on the team.
Source additional resources for a maintenance day if the need arises or where specialist skills are required.
Qualifications and Requirements required:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
With 3 years of experience in a similar role
OR Higher Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 6 years of experience.
Membership in a professional institution of Engineering.
Skills in usage of CMMS for example: E-Maint, SAP, Coswin etc
High-end problem-solving skills (5WHY, Ishikawa, DMAIC)
