Public Service Commission Chief Superintending Geochemist Jobs in Kenya

For appointment to this grade an officer must have:-

served for a minimum period of eight (8) years and currently serving at the grade of Geochemist I, CSG 9 and above or in a comparable and relevant position in the wider public service;

a Bachelors degree in any of the following disciplines: Geochemistry, Geology, Chemistry, Geo-Science or equivalent qualifications from a university recognized in Kenya; and

demonstrated professional competence in work performance and results.

Duties and Responsibilities

overseeing designing of geochemical field projects;

coordinating and managing geochemical field projects in geo-energy sector;

reviewing geochemical exploration reports;

overseeing the analysis of geochemical samples/data;

developing geochemical exploration standards and guidelines in geo-energy sector;

monitoring conformity to legislation and statutes related to geochemical exploration
activities in geo-energy sector;

ensuring implementation of Environmental and Social Impact Assessment recommendations for geo-energy sector projects; and

ensuring proper management of resources.
