We are looking for an Urban Sanitation Franchise Manager to scale up PSI’s “Liyu Class” private-sector pay-for-use toilet and personal hygiene franchise.
The Franchise Manager will use current and/or past experience working in a franchise business to develop systems, a franchise manual, quality standards and monitoring, staffing, and financials to build a profitable franchise business.
The business will be funded to scale from three to 20 operational sites in three years, including establishment of one model franchisee as a center of excellence.
The Franchise Manager will have excellent managerial, financial, and problem-solving skills and will have
proven ability to work effectively with government officials to identify expansion sites, negotiate site acquisition, supervise construction, and recruit effective, motivated business people as franchisees.
Key Result Areas: Development, launch, and scale up of Liyu Class urban sanitation franchise business
Selection and negotiation of suitable franchisee sites, supervision of quality construction of facilities
Clear path to financial sustainability of the franchisor to be established as part of PSI’s income generating activity (IGA)
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Build on the existing three operational sites to launch and scale the franchise to 20 locations
Recruit a small staff to support franchisee recruitment, site selection and negotiation, quality monitoring, and marketing materials and campaigns
Create franchise systems, such as a franchise manual, quality monitoring and supportive supervision, franchisee contracts, and methodology for visibility into financials for revenue-based fee collection
Manage business financials and ensure a path to profitability
Job Requirements
Background
Master’s degree business administration or a relevant field with five (5) years of demonstrated experience out of which two (2) years in Supervisory position
OR
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a relevant field with seven (7) years of demonstrated experience of which two (2) years in Supervisory position
