Job DescriptionBackgroundPopulation Health and Environment - Ethiopia Consortium (PHE-EC) is a non-governmental non-for-profit organization established in 2008. The consortium was established with a vision “to see Ethiopia with a sustainable use of resources, resilient ecosystems, sustainable livelihoods, and a healthy population”.
The organization has also a mission “to contribute to sustainable development in Ethiopia by promoting and enhancing the integration of population, health and environment through multi sectorial approaches”. Currently PHE EC has 66 members organization under its Umbrella.
Now PHE-EC is looking for qualified and high caliber person for the position of Members and partners communication officer that meets the requirements listed below. The officer will be responsible to provide overall follow-up, guidance and technical support to all our members and partners.
Overall Responsibilities To facilitate the exchange of views among members, partners including the use of social media and other tools/platforms in coordination with the communication unit and to develop initiatives that enhance the value added and contributions of membership;
To act as a conduit between PHE-EC and its members, partners through regular information exchange and feedback that mutually strengthens the work of the
Consortium and the role and value of membership;
Strengthen membership and partnership of the organization locally and globally from the perspective of SDGs
Main Responsibilities
Ensure integration and coordination among the various PHE-EC members’ contributing to the overall goal of the Consortium through strengthening inter sectorial collaboration.
Follow-up membership applications and concessional subscriptions according to policy, with referral to the PHE EC management team and Board as necessary, and update member records accordingly.
Develop guideline/policy, profile and tools for members and partners engagement.
Develop and implement membership selection strategies, ensuring well-informed
answers to membership enquiries, cost efficiency and system development.
Welcoming and informing new and prospective members, and taking care of sessions for newcomers in plenary meetings.
Analyze the results of a members’ questionnaire on areas
of interest and expertise to
inform the membership engagement.
Job Description
Reports to:
2M & E knowledge sharing and communication coordinator
Duty Station:
Addis Ababa
Ensure that timely reports are prepared related to members
Develop and coordinate initiatives to improve and enhance the value-added and offerings of membership;
Strongly work with M & Evaluation knowledge sharing and communication coordinator and Communication team to develop a suite of communications materials to use in their membership drive campaigns and a guidance note and ensure steady two-way flow of
communication from Secretariat to members
Develop a module or facilitated session on membership, to fit into partner workshops with options for membership engagement
Develop working groups or forums on thematic issues among PHEEC Members .
Coordinate any partners related assessment and engagement platforms
Relationship management – be the primary contact for our members and partners
Carry out other responsibilities and tasks as directed by the Coordinator
Manage members interface and promotion using PHE EC web-site and publications
Job Requirements
Required qualification, experience, knowledge and skills Mandatory:
MA in Social Studies, Communication, leadership, management, public Relation or other
related field with combined sound experiences.
Minimum four years of experiences related to teamwork.
Computer literacy; Ms Word, Power Point, Excel, internet usage, etc…
Excellent speaking, writing and listening skills of Amharic and English languages
Practical experiences of coordination in a consortium implementation are advantages.
