    Dimensions of the Role

    Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Coordinator will be in-charge of will be responsible assisting in the provision of efficient and effective recruitment and selection services.

    Accountabilities

    Recruitment & Selection:

  • Coordinate manpower planning processes including upcoming positions, staff movement forecasts to establish appropriate and timely staffing schedules.
  • Provide advice and guidance on all aspects of the Human Resources function relating to recruitment and selection matters and associated terms and conditions.
  • Review of Job Descriptions and ensuring that all jobs are evaluated.
  • Promote and maintain a high standard of professional recruitment practice for all positions
  • Facilitate staff transitions as a result of retirement, redundancy or termination of contract
  • To provide regular status reports on recruitment and selection activity.
  • To deliver recruitment and selection related training to managers across the Organisation
  • Working closely with the HR Manager, device strategies of attracting, retaining and motivating staff
  • Manage the end to end recruitment & selection process

    Other HR duties:

  • Participate in staff performance Management process
  • Support in Learning & Development initiatives
  • Support in HRIS management
  • Supporting staff benefits administration
    Coordinate a comprehensive orientation programme for all new staff
  • Ensure all staff are aware of relevant policies and procedures and implications of not adhering to them
  • Promote a work environment that demonstrates fairness, openness and equity
  • Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Child Protection (CPP) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility.
  • This includes, but is not limited
    to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.

    Technical expertise, skills and knowledge

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource or related field.
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant proven experience as a HR generalist
  • Membership with IHRM
  • Ability to negotiate, advocate and influence effectively at all levels of the Country Office and outside of line management relationships.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships and networks quickly at every level within the Country Office and outside.
  • Listening, coaching and counselling skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage change effectively.
