Job Description

The Driver reports to the Administration Coordinator/Office Coordinator. S/he is responsible for vehicle maintenance and management, staff and material transportation and provision of clerical duties to administration.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans vehicle and performs routine checks to ensure it has proper working tools on a daily basis.
  • Refuels vehicle using an approved fuel voucher/fuel card and records this on the vehicle log sheet timeously.
  • Parks vehicle safely at designated place at the end of each working day not later than 6.00 pm.
  • Ensures that after hours travel have prior formal approval by the supervisor and security office.
  • To report immediately to the Admin & Logistics Manager all accidents involving Plan vehicles
  • Comply to the motor vehicle policy provisions, Plan transport policy and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Transports staff and designated people to all areas as instructed.
  • Ferries goods to required points as may be directed from time to time.
  • Ensure that all Plan assets are not left unattended in the vehicle whilst parked.
  • Timely and accurate completion of vehicle log books for submission to the supervisor by the second day of the month.
  • Prepare monthly vehicles maintenance reports for allocated vehicles.
  • Dispatch and deliver all documents between Plan and other service providers.

    Qualifications

  • “O” level
  • Minimum 5 years driving experience in a busy working environment. INGO experience will be an added advantage.
  • Valid class 2 drivers’ licence
  • A valid defensive driving certificate from a recognised institution
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Fluent in English and Kiswahili languages.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

    Responsibilities

    Transformation Guidance

  • Responsible for ensuring all key stakeholders in the Regional and Country offices have a full appreciation of the transformation framework and its application.
  • Works with the Director, Sub Region to facilitate and support each country office through the transformation process, ensuring active country/regional office engagement and ownership.
  • Provides organisational development expertise to enable Regional Management, Country Directors and Senior Managers to lead structured organisational change, ensuring overall consistency with Plan International’s strategy, whilst enabling local flexibility.

    Effective and Timely Implementation

  • With minimal supervision, facilitates and guides the development of transformation process for each country office within the region, in order to increase reach and impact for children, especially girls.
  • Facilitates an analysis of leadership and key skills putting in place development plans to strengthen the capability of leaders and key skills that are critical to transformation.
  • Enables connections between country office teams and subject matter experts, to ensure that expert advice is available to support transformation when needed.
  • Facilitates the embedding of Plan International’s culture and values throughout the organisation.
  • Works with leaders to develop business cases for change, including developing investment appraisals, using Plan International’s agreed methodology.
  • Co-ordinates and guides the development of implementation plans to enable timely transitions, providing reports on progress, risks and risk mitigation to regional management and our transformation governance groups.

    Learning and Improvement

  • Actively participates in gathering and disseminating lessons learned, facilitating the transfer of learning/experience between countries and across regions.
  • Ensures that Plan International’s change methodology is consistently applied and continuously improved.
  • Works to increase individual and organisational change capability and ensures people are engaged with change, to accelerate and embed the adoption of change.

    Qualifications

  • Extensive change management planning and implementation experience, preferable with additional experience
    in some or all of the following disciplines: OD, HR, Finance, project management, lean six sigma.
  • Knowledge and understanding of child rights, gender equality and community development approaches is desirable.
  • Self-motivated, with high drive to achieve results and able to work with high degree of autonomy.
  • Able to manage multiple projects, work with senior leaders and deliver results.
  • Intellectually flexible – a lateral thinker, open to new ideas and methodologies.
  • Strong business acumen with an understanding of performance reporting tools and methodologies.
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills, with well-developed political acumen.
  • Collaborative in approach, with the ability to remain neutral/independent.
  • Highly credible, with a good track record intact and diplomacy.

    Plan International NGO Employment Security Manager (26502) Opportunities in Kenya

    Responsibilities

  • Provide advice to the management on all the decisions to be made touching on safety and security.
  • Effectively maintains strong links and relationships regionally with other security-related networks and organizations and assists in developing effective security networks & responses relevant to the context.
  • Act as a key advisor to the Country Director on security matters for leadership support in decision making.
  • Maintain an appropriate level of contact with national, regional and IH program team members and other external stakeholders to develop and implement programs to support the fulfilment of Plan’s Security strategy.
  • Prepares security reports and provide security analysis.
  • National focus for scanning of security environment and adjusting security phases, policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Responsible for country-wide security management in line with the acceptance model and Plan International standards.
  • Develops country-wide security and evacuation plans and drives compliance with the organization security policies and procedures.
  • Capacity development of security focal points and officers across field locations.
  • Initiates security alerts as appropriate in line with the ever evolving security context across the country.

    Qualifications

  • A relevant degree in areas of Security and Safety, Social Sciences, International Development or related fields.
  • A minimum of 5 years proven work experience at senior level in a role that covers multiple country and regional remits, with at least 1 year experience in INGO safety and security management.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in security management, advisory, analysis and capacity building role in an international organisation setting.
  • In-depth knowledge or work experience in post-conflict and/or complex emergency environment.
  • Deep and clear understanding of humanitarian principles, codes of conduct and ideally, specific sub-sector work: protection, health, shelter, linked to INGO field operations contexts.
  • Good understanding and experience in neutrality in local conflicts and conflicting parties interaction with all parties and maintaining a position of (humanitarian) neutrality is a necessity of the role.
  • Experience in missions such as within peace-keeping, civilian protection, police services settings will be an added advantage.
  • Proven ability to be flexible and work well under pressure in fast-paced team environments.
