Plan International Ethiopia is looking for Community Coordinator for Hawassa who will be reporting to the MELR Manager.
The community coordinator will provide support to al community-focused activities in the project. He/She will work with local government, partner NGOs, stakeholders at the Hawassa Industrial park (HIP), and different community groups, and other relevant stakeholders.
The community coordinator will provide support to the senior management team including the Chief of Party, Monitoring, and Learning, Evaluation and Research Manager and Gender and Youth specialist.
Accountabilities Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Child Protection (CPP) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
Key relationships
The community coordinator worker very closely with The USAID Hawassa Community and workers wellness team under the supervision of the MELR Manager.
He/She works and collaborate with Plan International Ethiopia Hawssa Programme areas team and other Plan International teams as are required.
He acts as the key contact staff of the HCWW project for all stakeholders and HIP female workers.
Job Requirements
Technical expertise, skills and knowledge
MA preferred,
BA degree in social sciences and related fields, with experience in gender, youth and/or community engagement.
At least 5 years of experiences in relevant fields of work
Experiences with USAID-funded for international donor finding preferred
Experience with community managed programmes, implementations and monitoring especially regarding work wellness and female migrant population.
Experience working with partner NGOs, community and migrant women; ability to develop activity guidelines/Standard Operating Procedures; and donor reports
Strong computer skills, Ms-word, Ms-Excel, Ms-access, SPSS and others
Fluent in English and Amharic oral and written communication skills
