Job Description

The Vice-Chancellor is the Chief Executive Officer of the university responsible to the Governing Council for the organization and conduct of the business of the university.

He/She serves as the nerve-centre of the activities of the university in areas of academic, administration and external relations.

He/She is also the Chief Accounting Officer of the university and should have deep understanding of the terrain, the operations and challenges of running a 21st century university in Nigeria.

Qualifications and Experience

The candidate for the post of Vice-Chancellor shall be a distinguished scholar of the rank of a Professor with minimum of 15 years of teaching and research experience in the university system.

Have a good track record and experience in university administration with proven evidence of academic leadership, shall show evidence of international exposure.

Be knowledgeable in ICT to drive a dynamic university, be a strategic thinker, have excellent physical and mental health.

Be capable of coordinating and inspiring other principal officers and colleagues, and be of impeccable character.

Tenure

The Vice-Chancellor shall hold office for a single tenure of five (5) years or may be appointed on acting capacity on such terms and

conditions as may be specified in the Letter of

Appointment by the Governing Council of the university.
