The subject entity is one of the largest Pension Schemes in the Country with an asset base of over Ksh MB.
The Pension scheme has over Ksh.108 invested in One (1) commercial Building, residential properties and vacant plots spread across the country and is looking for suitable candidates to fill the following positions:
Property - Project Manager
Role To lead the implementation of the Pension Scheme's strategic plan with respect to investments in real estate and in compliance with the Pension Scheme's Investment Guidelines and Regulations.
The successful candidate shall be expected to translate the Board of Trustees objectives and resolutions into tangible action plan to be executed by the Pension Scheme and or outsourced service providers.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to supervise internal and external outsourced agency, property management and facilities management with respect to;
Be the internal lead transaction advisor and driver of the Pension Scheme's property disposal strategy by favorably positioning the properties;
Advice on the most efficient and effective manner to optimize property operations
Ensure that the properties are in a good state of repair and maintenance to enhance their valuations:
In liaison with the Pension Scheme's Financial advisors, optimize the property portfolio holdings from a return perspective:
Be the key relationship manager and technical negotiator with respect to third party interactions (lawyers, surveyors, engineers, selling agents, land registries etc.) especially on the disposal objective of the Pension Scheme's property portfolio;
Review and approve expenses and expense instructions;
Supervise and monitor the performance of all incomes and expenses related to the property;
Ensure and supervise the preparation and maintenance for all properties and their core installations;
Ensure compliance with statutory obligations with respect to the Pension Scheme's property holding;
Supervise service providers to ensure adherence to the service level agreements in place;
Monitor all the Pension scheme's legal administrations, contracts
and compliance thereof; and
Develop and supervise the property management strategy and provide periodic milestone updates of the Pension Scheme's property disposal strategy
Provide support and guidance to members of the team , to ensure that the management of the property portfolio is carried out in a professional manner in accordance with best practice standards
Appointment Specification
Applicants should be in possession of the following Bachelor's degree in a property related field [Land Economics. Real Estate, quantity Survey, Land Surveying, Land Management, Property Management etc.);
A Minimum of fifteen [15) years professional experience in the property field;
A minimum of five [5) years in a leadership or senior management role;
Registration with a statutory and professional body will be an added advantage;
Occupational qualifications or master's degree in a Property or Finance/Business related field would also be an added advantage.
Skills and Competences
Good team management and leadership skills;
Excellent communication and negotiations skills;
High levels of integrity;
Good planner, organizer and effective decision maker.
Work with minimum or no supervision; and
Willingness to travel as needed.
