The clinic intends to invite suitably qualified talent in the position of a Laboratory Technician (Full Time) for the purpose of expansion.
The Job:
The Laboratory Technician will conduct all laboratory bench work, biorepository activities and documentation related to patients.
Responsibilities
Preparing clients for receiving, collecting, labeling and registering of specimens
Disaggregating specimens for processing and analyses; Cleaning and sterilizing laboratory equipment, surfaces and glassware.
Performing daily maintenance, calibration and quality control of equipment.
Receiving and correctly processing samples.
Analyzing samples of blood and body fluids for diagnosis and correctly preserving test samples and disposing of laboratory waste.
Releasing patients results in a timely manner to physicians or directly to the patients.
Performing blood grouping;
Preparing stains
Preparing samples for microscopic examination and for automated analysis.
Maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, physicians and co-workers by following established standards and procedures and by complying with legal regulations.
Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor
Qualifications
Applicants for the position must have a Higher Diploma
/ Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences from a recognized institution.
S/he must have three 3 years relevant working experience
Must be registered by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technologists and Technician Board
