Peak Performance International (T) Ltd. on behalf of Whyimbi Freight Company Ltd. based in Dar es Salaam, is looking to recruit an experienced, dynamic and business minded Sales & Business Manager to head its Clearing & Forwarding division located in Dar es Salaam.

The Business Manager will be in-charge of the entire Clearing & Forwarding business, and will be reporting to the Board of Directors of the parent Company; i.e. Whyimbi Freight Co. Ltd.

The main purpose of this position is to set a strategic direction and revamp the almost dormant business and turn around into a revenue generating company.

The successful candidate will be the Chief Executive who will be responsible for directing and controlling the operations and resources of the company, and to give strategic guidance and direction to the board to ensure that the company achieves its mission and objectives. .

Job Description/Responsibilities

• To direct and control the work and resources of the company and ensure the recruitment and retention of the required numbers and types of well-motivated, trained and developed staff to ensure that it achieves the mission and strategies.

• To chart out a strategic business plan and its annual operating budget and monitor progress against these plans as cost effectively and efficiently as possible.

• To provide strategic advice and guidance to the chair and members of the board, and

keep them aware of developments within the industry.

• To ensure that appropriate policies are developed to meet the company’s mission and objectives and to comply with all statutory and other regulations.

• Establish and maintain formal and informal links with major customers, relevant government departments and agencies, local authorities, key decision makers and other stakeholders.

• Develop and maintain an effective marketing and public relations strategy to promote the products, services and image of the company in the wider community.

• To represent the company in negotiations with customers, suppliers, government departments and other key contacts to secure for it the most effective contract terms.

• To oversee the preparation of the annual report and accounts of the company and ensure their approval by the board.

• Develop and direct implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that the company complies with all health and safety, and other statutory regulations.

Job Requirements

• Tanzanian holders of a degree of Bachelor of Business Administration or Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and Business Management, or its equivalent from a recognized institution of higher learning.

• An experience of not less than three (3) years of working in a senior position, preferably in the Clearing and Forwarding or logistics industry.

• Must be enriched with Communication skills in both English and Kiswahili languages.
