PATH is currently recruiting a Program Assistant for the Fleming Fund supported project on surveillance of antimicrobial-resistant bacteria in Kenya. The position will be based in Nairobi.
Responsibilities:
Maintain office files for the program, ensuring confidentiality of all documents.
Working with internal and external contacts to prioritize and schedule meetings, compile and organize relevant background materials for meetings; and monitor action items assigned and other follow-up activities.
Coordination logistics of workshops, trainings and meetings.
Make flight, hotel and ground transport arrangement for project staff and visitors.
Complete travel documents for PATH policy.
Draft and manage invitation letters and confirmations for meeting.
Monitor program activities and upcoming deadline.
Serve as the primary point of administrative contact and liaison for the project.
Required Experience
A diploma in relevant field.
A minimum of two (2) years of Professional experience directly related to administrative and program support experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience working in an international organization and/or in a multicultural environment is desirable.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills to include conflict resolution, priority management and managing the expectations of multiple clients.
Highly organized, flexible, and adaptable to changing priorities.
Ability to maintain a
high level of confidentiality concerning financial and employee files.
Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Ability to work in team situations with minimal supervision.
Excellent computer skills (especially MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook): must have demonstrable ability to format and scan documents, prepare presentations and use advanced calendaring and email management strategies.
Ability to establish and maintain office records and files, interpret rules and regulations and to apply them to work situations.
Candidates must currently have legal authorization to work in Kenya.
