Chief of Party, Strengthening Quality of Malaria Diagnosis and Treatment in Ethiopia (8329)NOTE: This position is contingent upon donor funding.

PATH seeks a Chief of Party under the USAID funded Quality of Malaria Diagnosis and Treatment in Ethiopia program. The overall objective is to improve the quality of malaria diagnosis and treatment services in project supported facilities.
The Chief of Party is considered 'key personnel' and must meet or exceed the qualifications listed below and specific responsibilities may include:
Responsibilities:Serving as team leader, charged with the development and execution of the overall project strategy, work plan, and achievement of expected project results.
Directing and monitoring implementation of activities within the work plan, ensuring that activities are performed to a high professional standard, effectively implemented, and fulfill USAID and PATH requirements.
Overseeing all technical assistance and administrative support activities under the program.
Ensuring the timely, complete and accurate submission of all performance reports and responses to donor requests on performance, success stories, challenges and financial information of the program.
Ensuring compliance with all donor-related, PATH, and program-specific policies.
Liaising with donor personnel, and project team to support program implementation.
Required Skills and Experience:
A MD and MPH is required.
Strong leadership qualities and depth and breadth of technical and management expertise, as demonstrated by a minimum of 10 years’ experience in managing health projects is required.
Demonstrated management, leadership, decision making, and interpersonal skills.
Full professional proficiency in English with excellent oral and written communications skills.
Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-site team-based organizational structure.
Demonstrated ability to create and maintain effective working relations with senior Government personnel, international organizations, NGO partners, host country governments, and U.S. Government Agencies.
Good understanding of the Ethiopian health system and USAID principles and Guidelines.
Have reasonable experience in health system strengthening and quality of care improvement.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with partners to achieve project results.
Available to travel nationally and internationally up to 25 percent.
Must have legal authorization to work in Ethiopia.
