A Pediatrics Consultant clinic located at Upper Hill, Nairobi.
The clinic intends to invite suitably qualified talent in the position of a Part-Time Pediatrician.
Job Summary:
A part time pediatrician will diagnose, treat, and help prevent children’s diseases and injuries by working closely with the other Medical Officers in the establishment in ensuring quality health services to the patients.
The pediatrician will offer clinical and administrative leadership to ensure safe and excellent quality services according to the set Standard Operating Procedures, ethics and professional standards / requirements.
Responsibilities
Examine children regularly to assess their growth and development and general physical condition.
Examine patients or order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests to obtain information on medical conditions and determine diagnosis.
Treat children who have minor illnesses, acute and chronic health problems, and growth and development concerns, acute illnesses, infections, or injuries, chronic diseases or disorders.
Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury in infants and children.
Administer non-intravenous medications; prescribe treatments or therapies and medications.
Provide health and wellness advice to patients, guardians, or caregivers.
Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients and parents or guardians.
Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners or health facilities when necessary.
Collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as
medical history, reports, and examination results.
Administrative duties as the clinic in-charges while on duty from time to time.
Qualifications
Post Graduate Degree in Pediatrics from a recognized institution.
MBChB or its equivalent holding a valid certificate from The Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board.
Valid Professional certification
Minimum of 2 years’ experience of post graduate training in a busy hospital.
Good communication (written and verbal) skills, including well developed presentation skills
Key Performance Indicators
Adherence to standard treatment protocol
Following of scheme rules as per insurance regulations
Client satisfaction index of 95% and above
