Oxford HR Associate Jobs in Nairobi - Kenya
About us
Who we areFounded in 1995, Oxford HR is a leading
executive search firm dedicated to advising
organisations working in international
development on their most strategic of
hires.
We believe that organisations devoted
to the achievement of positive and
sustainable outcomes deserve the same
level of rigor and quality that the business
sector receives, at fees they can afford.
We work with international development
organisations to find and appoint the
leaders who will deliver their missions on the
ground. We have worked with clients at
every stage of growth, from grassroots
NGOs, social entrepreneurs to global
institutions. Clients include the major
international development actors in Asia,
Africa and Europe.
We are proud of the fact that it was Oxford
HR who first pioneered Executive Search and
Selection into the international development
sector, and we have demonstrated an ability
to appoint successfully to senior and hardto-fill vacancies ever since.
Our mission
Like our clients, our mission springs from
our values and commitment to social justice
and economic empowerment and the
achievement of the UN’s Sustainable
Development Goals.
The needs of the sector are very much part
of our DNA.
Through our work we aim to:
Promoting positive change in favour of
poor and marginalised people;
Working in partnership with our clients,
providing a tailor-made service;
Drawing on our first-hand experience of
working in international development;
Using our unrivalled personal and
professional networks;
Providing a thorough, detailed and fair
search process;
Dealing fairly and openly with
candidates - we are often thanked by
candidates, even the unsuccessful ones.
What makes Oxford HR unique?
Our networks and understanding of international development, and our extensive reach across the globe, enable us to conduct closely targeted and defined executive search
campaigns, which provide you with a choice of excellent candidates, for the post.
Our consultants have extensive experience in international development, ethical trade,
emergencies, social enterprise and related sectors, at almost every level – as volunteers,
technical advisers, regional directors, functional directors, CEOs and Trustees.
We have unparalleled networks of professional contacts in most parts of the sector and we can call on these connections to help us find exactly the right people to move your organisation
forwards.
We have worked with a broad range of sectors - INGOs, donor
agencies/funders/foundations, national and local governments, multi and bi-laterals, academia
and international businesses.
Some of our consultants also have a commercial background, before moving into the
development sector and bring expertise and contacts from those areas.
Our researchers have academic and work-related experience of the sector.
Oxford HR was one of the first executive search consultancies to find senior managers in the commercial world who wanted to make a shift into this sector and we have successfully placed many people from the business world into the INGO world ever since.
We believe that our comparative advantage as a search consultancy firm is this unique balance of for-profit, not-for-profit, international development and HR expertise.
We hope you’ll feel part of the family at Oxford HR and will contribute to our thinking and planning as well as coming along to our social events.
We have an annual planning summit in
Oxford, usually in March each year and will invite you to that and also to come and visit us as regularly as you are able to. We’ll offer you opportunities for training to keep your skills up to date and invite you to help us shape our plans for the future too.
What Skills do we Look for?
Our Associates are usually senior, highly experienced leaders in their own right – ideally from the charity sector or specifically international development and a background that might be in operations, administration or HR. We also look for people with significant recruitment expertise, ideally gained in sectors that we operate in.
Currently
We are looking for two Associates, one with base in South Africa, Johannesbourg, and a second associate based in Kenya, preferably Nairobi. Please get in touch with us with your CV and a Statement of Interest.
