Oxfam in Africa (OiA) embraces all the Oxfam stakeholders’ entities (countries, clusters, advocacy offices and affiliates) on the continent and seeks to enable and enhance impact through collaboration and integration. The Africa platform will deliver Oxfam’s impact and Influence in Africa. The plural and robust leadership team will represent the different Oxfam stakeholders in the continent.

The RoleOxfam in Africa is looking for a competent person to join our dynamic, innovative and committed team in their Uganda country program in the Education Community of Practice & Influencing (ECPI) Coordinator position.
Oxfam’s Education Community of Practice and Influence (ECPI) exists to strengthen transformative public education for all to fight inequality.
ECPI aims to establish a firm and coherent foundation for spearheading Oxfam’s work on transformative education and inequality through enhancing links between programme and influencing work (across national, regional and global levels) and demonstrating how transformative education is an enabler that supports the achievement of Oxfam’s mission to fight inequality to end poverty and injustice.

Be committed to undertaking Oxfam’s safeguarding training and adhering to relevant policies, to ensure all people who come into Oxfam are as safe as possible.
RequirementsA holder of a Postgraduate degree from a recognized university in Social Sciences, Education or other related field; or a relevant Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university plus equivalent experience.
Approximately five years’ experience and understanding of transformative education policies, practices and/or social justice; proven experience with facilitation of international networks.
Excellent ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders from different backgrounds and contexts and to build and maintain strong, diverse and inclusive networks.
Proven ability to demonstrate sensitivity to cultural differences and gender issues, as well as commitment to equal opportunities.
Knowledge of safeguarding and GDPR.
Understanding and hands on experience of advocacy and/or campaigning.
Ability to speak French or Spanish.
Experience of working with young people in formal and/or informal education settings.
Experience of living or working internationally.
Ability to contribute to successful funding proposals.
