The Oxfam International Secretariat is currently headquartered in Nairobi, with offices in Oxford, Washington DC, New York, Brussels, Geneva, and a liaison office with the Africa Union in Addis Ababa.
The RoleOxfam International Secretariat is looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to work in strategic partnership with Oxfam International's Advocacy and Campaigns and the Pan Africa Program's management teams to lead and deliver on the people aspects of OI’s organizational priorities in alignment with Confederation wide HR and People strategies.
The successful applicant will have a relevant post-graduate HR qualification or equivalent experience and previous experience working at HR Business Partner level as a member of a management team, ideally within an international organization. The preferred candidate will have specialized experience in Learning and Organizational Development.
They will have substantial and strong technical HR experience, personal resilience, agility and excellent relational
skills with the ability to influence senior managers/directors, all whilst working in a highly virtual environment.
They will have a proactive, can-do, problem-solving and solution-oriented disposition and the ability to work through HR policies and processes with a pragmatic and principles approach.
This post will be based in Nairobi and, as such, experience of Kenyan employment practices/law is essential. The role will be a full part of the OI Secretariat HR team, reporting to the Head of OIS HR based in the UK.
Clear written and fluent oral communication (in English) with the ability to give clear and effective advice and coaching on a variety of HR issues will be essential.
Competence in French and/or Spanish is desirable.
