Main Purpose of the roleThe Mechanical Engineer will work closely with architects and construction managers to ensure that the mechanical systems are integrated seamlessly into the building design. One is responsible for all construction activities that relate to mechanical equipment installation and maintenance.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesPlan and assign mechanical related works and coordinate them ensuring they are diligently carried out to accomplish daily targets
Proper installation, test-running, maintenance and overall control of all activities related to mechanical equipment and facilities
Explain safety protocols and how to technically handle the various instruments used on-site to the other Engineers
Responsible for the planning and analysis of the aspect of the construction that involve mechanical works.
Ensure absolute compliance of suppliers in supplying the materials and machinery needed on site.
Oversee the general activities of mechanical works and structures on-site. This involves planning and assigning mechanical-related works and coordinate them to the right sector while ensuring that they are diligently carried out to accomplish their daily targets.
Give estimates, prepare and assign resources e.g. manpower, materials, equipment and consumables that will be needed for all mechanical and related works before execution of project.
Carry out and monitor the installation process of the equipment to their appropriate places, test-run to check for any faulty parts, and ensure they are used and maintained as per industry standards and recommendations.
Train employees on how to handle and care for the construction equipment.
Regular visitation to the construction
site to monitor and resolve any unexpected technical difficulties that might arise during work is also expected of mechanical engineers.
Keeping records such as maintenance and repair schedule of various tasks involving installation and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
Submit site daily reports, inspection requests, estimates and all applicable reports as required.
Ensure that all projects are executed according to the applicable health, safety, sanitary and environmental standards.
Job Requirements
BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Able to train others on handling various equipment and due care necessary
Able to detect and provide necessary solutions to any problems that may arise
7 Years’ proven working experience, 3 of which MUST be in Construction.
Familiarity with 2D or 3D engineering design and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ProE or other)
Mathematical computing and analysis tools knowledge (Matlab, Excel, LabView etc)
Creativity and analytical skills
Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner
Technical writing skills
Good Moral standing embracing Christian values.
