Job Title: Program Officer – Fiscal Justice

Job PurposeThe Program Officer – Fiscal Justice is an individual contributor role reporting directly to the Opportunity and Equity Program Manager and is responsible for managing a portfolio of grants, development of strategies for the portfolio and maintaining relationships with grantees and key contacts.
The role provides the program with technical and administrative services relating to projects/grants and program administration and implementation as well as a variety of support in the area of information collection.
The Program Officer – Fiscal Justice represents the foundation in the public and makes decisions on the allocation of funds according to the strategy within their portfolio.
As a Program Officer – Fiscal Justice at Open Society-Africa, you will be responsible for:
Delivering fiscal justice work in a multi-country context.
Supporting research, knowledge creation and management on economic policies and more specifically on fiscal justice.
This work includes strengthening African and global connections, including helping to link civil society, research, and
movements to build political pressure momentum against illicit financial flows.

Education
Postgraduate degree.
Experience
Substantial work experience, including proficiency in field of expertise.
Minimum number years of relevant working experience—7 years.
The candidate should have experience in managing continental networks working on development finance, illicit financial flows, debt and tax justice.
Experience in managing large grants and fluid partnerships is crucial.
Practical knowledge on the intersectionality between economic policy and gender is crucial.
