Job PurposeThe Program Officer – Accountability and Justice is an individual contributor role reporting directly to the Accountability and Justice Program Manager and is responsible for managing a portfolio of grants, development of strategies for the portfolio and maintaining relationships with grantees and key contacts.
The role provides the program with technical and administrative services relating to projects/grants and program administration and implementation as well as a variety of support in the area of information collection.
The Program Officer – Accountability and Justice represents the foundation in the public and makes decisions on the allocation of funds according to the strategy within their portfolios.
As a Program Officer – Accountability and Justice at Open Society-Africa, you will be responsible for:
Overseeing Open Society-Africa’s Corporate Accountability program portfolio including identification of novel partners and initiatives in selected priority countries.
Monitoring national, regional and international legal and policy
developments on business and human rights.
Contributing to shaping Open Society-Africa’s Corporate Accountability strategy through research, advocacy, strategic litigation and other tools.
Building partnerships with key national, regional and international partners, including other philanthropies working in the area of business and human rights.

Education
Postgraduate degree.
Experience
Substantial work experience, including proficiency in field of expertise.
Minimum number years of relevant working experience—7 years.
