Job Description

Work environment

The employer is a large Company involved in construction, transport, drilling, etc. It owns and operates a large fleet of construction equipment and machinery, construction equipment, freight transport trucks and drilling rigs.

The Asset Management Section, located at Head Office, is responsible for the management of such assets. The Section supervises asset management staff placed at business unit levels and at project sites.

Overall Objective of the Job:

Under the direct supervision of the Chief Procurement & Property Administration Officer, the incumbent is responsible for safeguarding of the company’s assets.

The main objective of Asset Manager primarily involves full implementation of the asset management policy and procedures of the Company; including maintaining the proper record of each and every asset the company acquires and scheduling of the periodic physical verification; and, as appropriate for disposal after use.
The work of asset manager involves the preparation of periodic reports, which shows the status of each fixed asset.

Detailed Roles and Responsibilities:

Review and update the Company’s asset management policy; and once adopted, ensure it is fully applied and adhered to without fail;

Ensure the registration of the company’s asset and that a complete accurate and up-to-date computerized asset registration system is maintained;

Make sure that no amendments, deletion or addition to the asset register is made without consent and approval from management;

Ensure all fixed assets of the company are maintained with asset identification tag systems;

Ensure the capitalization of asset that is

recorded in the asset register, has been done as soon as it is acquired;

Ensure monthly reconciliation of asset and update the report;

Establish IFRS compliant asset registration format;

Verify and ensure, monthly report to Management;

Ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of asset utilization in all department and warehouses;

Ensure the renewal of title deeds and vehicle ownership certificates of each asset as well as full and timely insurance coverage is arranged through the Insurance Unit;;

Responsible for reporting on all assets that are not verified, whose records contain discrepancies during the inventory of the asset, before the close of the budget year;

Notify replacement requests for assets that are lost, stolen or otherwise determined unusable’

Compile all damage and accident reports communicated by the user Business Units and ensure adequate measures are taken through insurance and legal measures;

Ensure asset registration, physical verification and disposal are performed based on the company’s asset management policy and procedures;

Conduct annual inventory of asset in consultation with finance department and procurement, supply and asset admin manager;

Prepare quarterly and annual reports

Perform any other works related to the assignment

Job Requirements

Minimum of Bachelor Degree in Procurement & Supply Management, Business Management, Accounting or related disciplines; M.A. degree preferred

Training in inventory/asset management practices

Relevant Knowledge & Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in asset management, warehouse management, inventory control, within a large organization operating heavy machinery and vehicles;

Strong proven track record and experience in asset management, warehousing, or inventory control;

Knowledge and exposure to IFRS based asset management practices

Knowledge of working with asset management
