Open-Call On~des Residency Program
Initiated in 2020, on~des is a residency program for artists residing or originating (artists currently residing in France or abroad) from French overseas departments and territories (DOM and TOM). It is aimed at artists of all disciplines who wish to develop a research and creation project in Paris for three months (from September 4 to November 27, 2023).
For this edition, 12 artists will be selected.
The programme offers meetings with artists and cultural professionals, as well as active participation in the life of the Cité internationale des arts and its 325 residents from all disciplines, generations and backgrounds. The laureates also benefit from a living and working space, and financial support.
Eligibility criteria and selectionEligible artists of all nationalities, residents of the French overseas departments and territories, who are professionally active and have been practicing art for at least 5 years, without age limit.
It is intended for artists in the following fields: architecture, curating, visual arts, cinema, writing, music and performing arts.
A committee made up of qualified personalities from the artistic and cultural world studies all the applications and selects the winners of the program.
In addition to evaluating the candidate's professional background, the jury members pay particular attention to the quality of the project, the arguments presented on the added value of a residency perspective in Paris, the work protocol envisaged and the contacts already established or desired.
The residency
The
program includes:
• Coverage of travel insurance, transportation to and from Paris as well as travel within France (subject to a ceiling and upon presentation of proof of payment);
• A studio on the site of the Marais of the Cité internationale des arts;
• A living grant of 1000 euros per month;
• A production grant of 2000 euros;
Transportation to and from the work will not be covered.
A report of the residency will be requested at the end of the residency.
Residents are welcomed in studio apartments with a unique furnished space for working and living and with wifi access.
The laureates will benefit from the support of the Cité internationale des arts team and its network of partners, in phase with the latest developments in contemporary creation. Open studio doors to the public, meetings with curators and art critics will open perspectives, new collaborations and possible visibility of works in progress.
