Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa Consultant: Expert on Human Rights and Rule of Law Jobs in South Africa
Responsibilities:Supporting the Human Rights and Rule of Law Programme to strengthen coherence with the Overall Cluster and OSISA Strategies.
Working with key stakeholders and other Cluster programmes to continue supporting implementation of strategies that advance Human rights and Rule of Law especially for the most vulnerable groups (women, people with disabilities, LGBTI and indigenous groups) in the Region.
Supporting the Human Rights, Justice and Law Cluster to reframe its strategy to better address issues related discrimination, marginalisation, exclusion, disadvantage and vulnerability in the Region.
Assisting in the development of new approach in the grant- making processes taking in account the regional and national dynamics in collaboration with OSISA grantees and other partners on ground.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
Master’s Degree in Law, Human Rights or related social sciences fields.
At least five years’ experience in leading programmes related to Human Rights, Justice and Rule of Law in the Southern Africa Region and addressing discrimination, marginalisation, exclusion and vulnerability.
Proven exposure to the international organisations and environment and good knowledge of regional and sub-regional institutions (, Human Rights Council, African Union, SADC, African Commission for Human and People’s Rights etc).
