Job SummaryThe incumbent in this position organizes controls and issues linen and uniforms under the guidance of the Linen Room/Uniform Supervisor and in accordance with the standards set by Ole- sereni hotel
Responsibilities
Well informed about the Hotel and able to work during peak hours rapidly, maintaining a constant standard of performance.
Responsible for marking all newly received linen and uniforms and placing in proper storage in clean environment, then issuing to the relevant departments and employees.
Receives, sorts and double checks condition of all linen and uniforms, records all outgoing and incoming from the laundry thoroughly before storing and issuing.
Issues linen and uniforms according to established procedures only, i.e. dirty for clean, or against requisition.
Informs Linen Room/Uniform Supervisor of any un-removable stains, damages or any abuse noticed in checked linen or uniforms.
Separates linen or uniforms that need repair and/or special treatment and forward it to the Tailor and/or Laundry Manager for immediate action.
Distributes cleaning rags on a dirty to clean basis.
Prepares all linens and uniform for inventories as advised by Linen Room/Uniform Supervisor.
Assist Linen Room/Uniform Supervisor in checking quality and quantity of all new incoming textiles to ensure they meet the Hotel’s specifications and provide new incoming stocks with accurate stamps.
Reports to the Linen Room/Uniform Supervisor when stocks reach the minimum for re-order purposes.
Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve overall objectives of this position.
Understands and strictly adheres to the Rules & Regulations established in the Employees Handbook and the Hotel’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, and Health & Safety.
Ensures that
all potential and real hazards are reported and rectified immediately.
Maintains all equipment in good and clean condition.
Answers all guest questions/requests in a friendly and caring manner, takes appropriate action, or if needed, refers the matters to the relevant persons to handle.
It may be providing information, giving an extra item such as a towel, etc.
Flexible in shift timings and days.
Attends training sessions or communication meetings as advised by the Supervisor.
Knows and adheres strictly to Lost & Found procedures.
Promotes team work.
Training of new employees.
Cost efficient usage of cleaning chemicals.
Follows the code of conduct.
Ensures that all potential and real hazards are reported and rectified immediately.
Understands and strictly adheres to the Hotel’s Employee rules & regulations.
Follows company grooming standards, policies and procedures.
Reports any work related accidents happened on premises.
Familiar with evacuation procedures.
Maintains good relationship with coworkers in the Laundry and other departments throughout the hotel.
Job Requirements
Required education: Diploma, Associate's degree
Required relevant work experience: 12 months
Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
