Job SummaryDeputy Chief Security officer deputizes the Chief Security Officer and is responsible for safety, and security of guests, employees and the physical property according to the hotel standards.
He oversees the effective management of the daily routine under the guidance and leadership of the Chief Security Officer.
He is responsible for ensuring that the security supervisors/guards comply with the Security Standing Orders pertaining to the premises during his Shift duty.
Qualifications:
Basic Security Training certification is required in this position
2 – 3 years previous experience in security field is considered an asset
Occupational First Aid Certificate
Knowledge of Hotel security policies and procedures;
Typing/Basic Computer skills (MS Word, Outlook)
Ability to project an image of friendliness, professionalism and willingness to provide personalized service.
Ability to exhibit teamwork.
Ability to honor the guest, employee, and hotel confidentiality policy.
Knowledge of the Fire Fighting and emergency response procedures.
Ability to provide First Aid procedures.
Ability to able to walk long distances during patrols and to stand for long periods of time
Knowledge of safety operations and procedures, safety methods and practices, and public/customer service skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff.
Ability to demonstrate moral character, honesty, tact, fairness, lack of prejudice and desire to help when dealing with people.
Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing with staff and the general public.
Ability to analyze situations and adopt appropriate courses of action.
Ability to work extended hours and various work schedules.
Able to demonstrate excellent Interpersonal skills, Conflict resolution skills and Observational skills
Possesses sound decision-making abilities; Research and investigative skills
Responsibilities
To act as Liaison between the Security Department and administration in the absence of the Security Officer.
Respond to emergency situations including, but not limited to, safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies and threats to life and/or property
In an emergency situation, direct evacuation, or if a false alarm has sounded, assure guests/staff of their safety.
To handle and resolve all guest queries and complaints in an efficient manner and to establish an amicable relationship with all clients, customers and guests of the Hotel.
Ensure guest satisfaction in security areas of concern.
Administers First Aid in case of any
emergency requiring first aid measures.
Respond to calls for assistance in dealing with a belligerent guest or disturbance originating in another room or a suspicious character loitering in the stairwell.
Protects Associates/guests of the Hotel from acts of obnoxious guests
Advises Chief Security Officer of all activities by staff/guests that are inconsistent with Hotel policies
Ensures all security precautions are taken at special functions, banquets, parties, etc.
Maintains chronological log on all security functions performed during shift and completes incident reports as required
Performs staff security spot checks as required; Ensures duties on task list are completed
Assists Chief Security officer in special investigations; Performs other related duties as required
Responsible for keeping track of all lost and found items and preparation of end of the month inventory
To train the Security Personnel in all security drills and security procedures laid down in the Standing Orders.
Co-ordinate the preparation of duty rosters and ensure all shift are manned in relation to amount of work
To ensure that at all time, all staff in the department are correctly and smartly dressed as per grooming standards.
To participate in any training/development schemes required by management
Participate in the hotel’s social responsibility programme
To follow the house rules and policies laid down by the management
To comply with company regulations as stipulated in staff handbook, regarding uniform, timekeeping and general conduct.
To comply with any statutory and legal requirement for fire, licensing, health and safety and to ensure that you are working in accordance with these requirements
Job Requirements
Required education: Diploma, Associate's degree
Required relevant work experience: 2 years
Required languages: English (Spoken: fluent | Written: fluent)
