Office of The Ombudsman Senior Research & Development Officer Jobs in Kenya

Duties and Responsibilities

Collecting, collating and analysing research data on administrative justice;

Developing and preparing data collection tools and research instruments;

Undertaking research on topical and emerging administrative justice issues;

Preparing and implementing research plans and proposals;

Implementing research protocols and terms of reference for research;

Promoting policies and legislations that advocate/champion administrative justice issues;

Liaising with other departments in undertaking research;

Preparing periodic reports and manuscripts for publication; and

Disseminating research findings and preparing reports;

Any other duties as may be assigned by the Commission from time to time.

Job Specification

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -

Served in the grade of Research and Development Officer I or its equivalent for a minimum period of four (4) years;

Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Economics, Economics and Statistics, Communication, Law, Education, Arts, Anthropology, Sociology or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

Certificate in Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a

recognized institution;

Membership to a relevant professional body where applicable;

Professional qualifications in research studies will be an added advantage;

Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution; and

Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Clearance/compliance Certificates

Successful candidates will be required to provide copies of clearance or compliance certificates from:

Kenya Revenue Authority.

Ethics & Anti-Corruption Commission.

Directorate of Criminal Investigations (CID).

A credit reference bureau.

Higher Education Loans Board.
