Office of the Controller of Budget Librarian Jobs in Kenya
This position is responsible for implementing information and knowledge management policies, strategies and systems in the office of the Controller of Budget.
Key Responsibilities/ Duties / TasksSupervisory ResponsibilitiesCataloging and classifying information resources to ensure rapid access and retrieval of information;
Promoting Prudent Utilization of Public Funds
Guiding library users with access to available resources;
Implementing policies, strategies and programs in the department
Ensuring availability of necessary books, journals and literature for library users;
Preparing reports on Information and knowledge resource usage;
Sensitizing users on how to access and use the information and knowledge repository system;
Ensuring daily issues, returns and renewals of resource centre materials;
Providing reference and referral services to the users;
Conducting user surveys to gauge user satisfaction with the Information and Knowledge centre resources and services;
Providing support for experiential learning in the office of the Controller of Budget;
Tracking online database subscriptions for journals, books and other relevant materials;
Collecting Knowledge assets such as best practices, lessons learned, and research reports, amongst others, for publication in the knowledge repository;
Implementing an Information and Knowledge Management strategy and framework;
Drafting the annual work plan for the department; and
Identifying online databases and other electronic resources that are of relevance to the information needs of the users.

Responsible for the assets assigned by the office of the Controller of Budget as per office’s asset register

Is exposed to minimum disagreeable conditions. The jobholder has
normal office facilities which include own office with desk and access to a telephone.
Job Competencies (Knowledge, Experience and Attributes / Skills).
Academic qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Library and Information Science, Knowledge Management, Communication or equivalent from a recognized institution;
Must have undertaken at least one-year Internship in relevant discipline with a reputable organisation.
Functional Skills, Behavioural Competencies /Attributes:
Proficiency in computer applications;
Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010
