The office of the Auditor General (OAG) is the supreme Audit Institution (SAI) of Uganda mandated under Article 163 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda to audit and report on the Public Accounts of Uganda and of all public offices, including the Courts, the Central and Local Government Administrations, Universities and Public Institutions of like nature and any Public Corporations or other bodies or organizations established by an Act of Parliament.
The Constitutional mandate of the OAG is amplified by the National Audit Act, 2008 which has among other things enhanced the financial and operational independence of the Auditor General.
In accordance with Section 9(2) of the National Audit Act, 2008, Regulation 14 of the National Audit (Terms and Conditions of Staff) Regulations, 2011, and Chapter 2.3 of the OAG Human Resource Manual 2013, applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following Positions:
IT Officer - Trainee
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should be Ugandans aged 30 years and below holding an Bachelor’s Degree in either Computer Science/Engineering or Information Technology, Or its equivalent
from a recognized University or Institution: Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) certifi cate, Certifi ed
MCITP qualifi cations and CISCO training will be an added
advantage.
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior IT Officer for performing the following duties;
Providing technical support to telephone and email requests for staff .
Deploying laptops, PCs and associated peripherals
including new installations and the redeployment of
existing equipment.
Installing and confi guring operating systems to agreed
standards under the direction of the Senior IT Officer.
Installing and confi guring software to agreed standards
under the direction of the Senior IT Offi cer.
Maintaining the existing computers
and peripherals to standards determined by the Senior IT Offi cer, by performing upgrades, new installations and carrying out
routine procedures.
Assisting in the compilation and maintenance of an
accurate inventory of hardware and software.
Providing at all times a professional, courteous and rapid
response to all staff .
Undertaking such other work as may be assigned which is consistent with the nature of the job and its level of responsibility
