Office of the Auditor General Internal Auditor Jobs in Uganda

The office of the Auditor General (OAG) is the supreme Audit Institution (SAI) of Uganda mandated under Article 163 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda to audit and report on the Public Accounts of Uganda and of all public offices, including the Courts, the Central and Local Government Administrations, Universities and Public Institutions of like nature and any Public Corporations or other bodies or organizations established by an Act of Parliament.

The Constitutional mandate of the OAG is amplified by the National Audit Act, 2008 which has among other things enhanced the financial and operational independence of the Auditor General.

In accordance with Section 9(2) of the National Audit Act, 2008, Regulation 14 of the National Audit (Terms and Conditions of Staff) Regulations, 2011, and Chapter 2.3 of the OAG Human Resource Manual 2013, applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following Positions:

  • Internal Auditor

    Minimum Qualifications
  • Applicants should be Ugandans aged 30 years and below, holding an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in EITHER Business Administration (Accounting option), Commerce (Accounting
    option), and any other Bachelor ’s Degree majoring in Accounting/Auditing OR Professional Qualifications like ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA or CPA.

    Duties
  • Reviewing the adequacy, completeness, reliability of
    the system for generating data, information, fi nancial
    statements and related notes and schedules.
  • Conducting systems audit to ascertain whether or
    not internal controls are appropriate to the entity, and whether or not they are operating eff ectively and efficiently.
  • Conducting value for money reviews on key activities of OAG to ascertain whether or not value has been obtained (effi ciency, eff ectiveness and economy).
  • Conducting risk management reviews to ascertain
    whether or not management has set procedures for risk identification and management including frauds.
  • Conducting periodic reviews to confi rm whether or
    not set policies and specifi c
    applicable instructions are followed, and confirm whether or not management is complying with all applicable legislations.
  • Reviewing management arrangements for ensuring that objectives of OAG are being achieved.
  • Conducting reviews on various projects implemented by OAG and report on project management, implementation,
    and conduct post implementation reviews.
  • Conducting reviews on resource acquisition, deployment & utilization, disposal and ascertain whether the arrangements for safe custody of assets are appropriate
    and adequate.
  • Conducting special audits and investigations as may be
    requested by management.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned

  • Applications through Post Offi ce should be by registered
    mail
  • To reach not later than 20th May 2019
  • Applications received shall be acknowledged by the office
  • All serving offi cers should channel their applications
    through their Heads of Departments
  • Late submission shall not be considered.
