Our client, Nyeri Water and Sanitation Company (NYEWASCO) is a limited liability company whose main mandate is to provide high quality water and sanitation services to residents of Nyeri County on commercial terms. In support of its strategic mandate, the company wishes to recruit a qualified individual to take up the following position:
Senior ICT Officer - HR/NW/PKF 01
The position ensures effective management of the company’s ICT and GIS systems. The role shall also be responsible for identifying new ICT solutions, maintaining and supporting ICT services and ensuring security of the company’s data and ICT systems.
Roles and Responsibilities
Ensures adherence to the implementation of ICT standards in line with the needs of the organisation.
Developing ICT roadmap, policies and strategy.
Supporting LANs, WANs, Network Segments and Internet and intranet systems
Maintaining Network and systems security.
Maintaining and developing a modern, cost-effective, stable and secure ICT Infrastructure.
Planning, developing and implementing the ICT budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Evaluating user needs and system functionality and ensuring ICT facilities meet these needs.
Leading ERP Implementation process.
Training users on change management in line with ERP System adoption.
Maintaining integrity of the Network, server deployment and security.
Providing expertise in business process re-engineering and guiding management to deal with change management.
Preparing ICT procurement and budget plans for the ICT Department.
Advising the organization on the ICT emerging issues and expectations.
Working closely with ICT service providers to ensure smooth operations and ensuring the organization realizes value for money.
Using technology as a tool to help the organization achieve its set goals and objectives.
Preparing ICT status reports within the stipulated timelines.
Developing and maintaining good working relationships with internal and external personnel.
Manage the ICT department staff
to ensure quality delivery of services, promoting capacity building through training and promotions.
Knowledge and Skills Required
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or its equivalent from a reputable Institution of Higher Learning.
Must have five (5) years of experience, at least three (3) of which should be in a supervisory role.
Professional certification such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), CCNA, MCSE, MCSA, MCSD or its equivalent.
Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Kenyan Constitution on Leadership and integrity.
Competence in working in different hardware and software environments and complex systems.
Merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Extensive working knowledge of MS Windows Server, Active Directory, MYSQL Server.
Demonstrate outstanding administrative/managerial capability in the management of ICT services preferably in the public sector
Must have displayed strong leadership skills and team-building prowess.
Should be fluent in English and Swahili, and possess good communication skills
Must have the ability to work under stress and adhere to strict deadlines.
Must have displayed a sound sense of integrity and have the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Should have good problem solving skills
Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
