Job specification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Water Engineering Technology or Civil Engineering or any other related Engineering Degree from a recognized institution

  • Registrable with professional Body (EBK and IEK)

  • At least one (1) year work experience

  • KCSE certificate

  • Proficiency in Computer Aided Design; AUTOCAD,
    CIVIL 3D will be an added advantage

  • Proficiency in Computer skills (MS office)

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting with strategic and longterm water system planning.

  • Assisting with the reviews of water system
    capacity and service evaluations associated with
    water service extension projects and other potential service growth opportunities.

  • Provide project recommendations through the use
    of computerized hydraulic modeling and analysis.

  • Manage multiple projects and perform varied
    engineering assignments associated with planning, design, or construction.

  • Gather and analyze water system data to assist in the preparation of strategic water system planning studies.

  • Ensure scope and quality of work achieve the
    intent of all Design Concepts and Company standards for capacity, performance, reliability,
    safety and
    regulatory compliance.

  • Develop technical information and concepts into feasible and effective engineering approaches.

  • Develop strategic and strong working
    relationships with engineering firms, vendors, and
    contractors for the benefit of NYAHUWASCO.

  • Provide technical expertise on engineering and
    operational issues.

  • Contribute to effective communication by
    listening and providing constructive feedback;
    supporting the creation of an open and honest
    work environment; cascading and sharing knowledge and information relevant to other members of the team and colleagues across the business.

  • Supervise, train, manage performance and
    motivate staff in the department to ensure
    improvement of professional skills.
