The Board of Directors (BOD) is seeking to recruit a dynamic, exceptional and visionary leader with good professional and ethical standing to fill the position of Chief Executive Officer.
The successful candidate will execute the mandate of the Board.
He/she will be reporting to the Board of Directors and be responsible for overseeing all the strategic, operational and financial performance of the organization through effective management.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic direction and leadership in line with the Authority’s Strategic Plan;
Oversee implementation of corporate business plan and strategies based on the Authority’s business philosophy, mission, vision and core values;
Undertake prudent financial management and investment mandates by ensuring sound policies and practices are adopted for optimal resource utilization and returns;
Oversee optimal and effective operations of National Water Infrastructure for Water Resources Storage and Flood Control;
Develop effective leadership teams to ensure excellent performance and effective succession planning at the Authority;
Develop and strengthen networks and partnerships with the Citizens, Government Institutions, Development Partners and Private Sector to spearhead fundraising for project implementation and sustainability;
Foster a conducive corporate culture that promotes strong ethical practices, good governance, employee productivity and compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements as stipulated in Mwongozo (code of conduct for state corporations).
Qualifications and work experience
Be a Citizen of Kenya;
Holds a degree from a university recognized in Kenya;
Has at least ten years’ experience, five of which should be in a senior management position in a public or private organisation;
A master’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage;
Must be registered and a member in good standing of a relevant professional body; and
Meets the requirements of leadership and integrity set out in Chapter Six of the Constitution.
Personal Competencies
Strong visionary leadership and negotiation skills
with capacity to engage with local, regional and international organizations;
Conversant with GoK and donor funding mechanisms and various investment models;
Be an excellent communicator with strong presentation, interpersonal, analytical and team player capacities.
All applicants must provide appropriate evidence of experience (letters of appointment and promotion) and provide valid documents required to satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 by attaching copies of the following;
Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations;
Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board;
Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority;
Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission; and
Clearance Certificate from Credit Reference Bureau.
