Duties & Responsibilities

Specific duties and responsibilities at this level will entail;
  • Driving Fund vehicles;
  • Loading, unloading, and performing necessary handling operations in connection with materials being transported;
  • Verifying descriptions and quantities of all items picked up or delivered;
  • Maintaining motor vehicles and related equipment by identifying, scheduling and/or reporting necessary repairs;
  • Repairing minor faults and cleaning Fund vehicles;
  • Performing necessary clerical tasks incidental to the operation of motor vehicles and related equipment for example makes entries in the work ticket as required; and
  • Performing clerical duties in field offices.

    Requirements for Appointment

    For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
  • KCSE D (Plain) or its equivalent qualification;
  • Valid Driving License;
  • At least two (2) years driving experience;
  • Suitability Trade Test for Drivers
  • First Aid Certificate Course
  • A valid certificate of good conduct
  • Proficiency in Computer Applications.
  • Practical test for drivers conducted by the ministry responsible for transport.

    The successful candidate(s) shall be required to provide the following documents before issuance of the offer letter in compliance with Chapter 6 of the Constitution 2010:
  • Police Clearance Certificate from the Directorate of Criminal investigations (DCI)
  • Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
  • Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
  • Clearance form stamped by the Ethics & Anti-corruption Commission (EACC)
  • Clearance certificate from a recognized Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
