Job DescriptionPosition: LFS Coordinator
Reports to: Area Programme Manager
Supervision of: LFS Team Leader, LFS Officers, LFS Assistants
Duty station: Assosa
Travel: 30% (frequent travel to refugee camps and IDP areas in BGR)
Duration and type of contract: Fixed Term

Role and responsibilitiesThe purpose of the LFS Coordinator position is to implement delegated LFS project portfolio within Benishangul Gumuz and Neighboring Amhara region, managing the day-to-day activities of LFS staff to ensure proper delivery, high quality results and compliance to applicable laws, standards, practices, policies and procedures.
The following is a brief description of the role.
Generic responsibilitiesLine management of LFS project field staff
Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures and awareness of NRC global and regional strategies
Contribute to LFS strategy development, project proposals and provide input on needs and gaps, considering where appropriate the role of cash-based interventions and market-based programmes
Manage and implement delegated portfolio of LFS projects (activities, budget and project documentation) as delegated from Area Programme Manager (APM) in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements, and ensure high technical quality
Provide regular progress reports to APM and AM as required
Promote the rights of refugees, IDPs and returnees in line with the advocacy strategy
Specific responsibilities
Lead need assessments to identify gaps and opportunities and submit comprehensive assessment report to the APM and LFS Specialist
Identify implementation opportunities for cash-based interventions and market-based programmes and support staff to implement quality and timely projects
Contribute to creating an enabling environment for the implementation of cash-based interventions, working with support teams in the institutionalization of cash-based programmes (capacity building, guidance and SOP development).
Identify business opportunities/schemes for individuals, groups, mechanisms to strengthen capacity building and scale up options which include entrepreneurship, skill development, Micro financing, business management and prepare
an action plan to support for small size enterprises for refugees, IDPs and host community
Actively participate in different relevant forums, meetings, and working groups
Qualifications

These are skills, knowledge and experience that are important for effective performance.
Generic professional competencies for this position:
Minimum of B.Sc./BA degree in agriculture, agricultural extension and rural development agribusiness, or another related field
Minimum five years’ experience from working in an LFS project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context Previous experience working on IDPs, Returns, Refugee and from working in complex and volatile contexts
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
Fluency in English, both written and verbal
Context related skills, knowledge and experience (shall be adapted to the specific position):
Knowledge of the humanitarian context in Benishangul Gumuz, and fluency in local languages is an asset
Experience of working with government authorities and other stakeholders
Documented experience from cash-based interventions
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and negotiation skills
Ability to prioritise responsibilities, carry out multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines
